Position Title: Director of Programs, Partnerships and Education 

Position Summary: 

As a creative and inspiring Jewish educator or programmer, the Director will curate, and implement a robust and dynamic calendar of adult Jewish education programs and classes from engaging text study to speaker series, panel discussions, chevruta study, and more.   A core responsibility of the Director is to partner with local and national Jewish organizations to design an annual program calendar with an educational arc that furthers the Dupree Conference and Education Center (DCEC) goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set Strategic Vision and Provide Leadership:
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive educational program strategy to support the mission and goals of DCEC
    • Hold broader educational and programmatic vision for the DCEC, while ensuring individual programs and details align with strategic goals
    • Act as the primary leader and steward of all Jewish learning, and programming efforts at the DCEC
  • Create Partnerships and Connect with Learners:
    • Stay abreast of Jewish educational offerings in Atlanta to identify opportunities for collaboration
    • Foster partnerships with national and local Jewish organizations, educators, clergy, and leaders to offer educational programs at the DCEC
    • Identify individuals and or cohorts and connect them to programs that align with interests
    • Assist COO to represent DCEC in Atlanta’s Jewish community and nationally 
  •  Design and Execute Programs: 
    • Curate a high-volume calendar of adult Jewish educational programs that appeal to a range of Jewish backgrounds and demographics.  Est 1-3 per week August through May with less frequency in June and July  
    • Meticulously plan advanced logistics for multiple events simultaneously 
    • Ensure all programs meet attendance goals, including proactive recruitment and strategic promotion
    • Recruit, train, and support program moderators or facilitators as well as volunteers to help chair or support individual programs 
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Partner with Events Coordinator, security, facilities, and others to meet on-site program needs. Implement marketing and registration in coordination with the Director of Marketing and Communications
    • Create, collect, and analyze participant feedback and engagement data to evaluate impact to continuously improve programming 
    • Ensure program participants and partners adhere to DCEC’s community standards
    • Negotiate and execute external speaker and educator contracts
    • Ensure adherence to department budget and individual program budgets 
       
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in Jewish program planning and implementation, with at least 3+ years in leadership role, managing successful educational initiatives
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree in related field (i.e. Jewish education, nonprofit management) preferred
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about Judaism with a strong commitment to Israel
  • Highly organized, works well under pressure and successfully manages multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and serve as a community connector for purposes of recruitment and lay leader engagement
  • Extensive experience designing, planning, and executing programs from start to finish, including the use of data and evaluation to inform and improve future programs
  • Willing to work with educators and clergy from a broad range of Jewish denominations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed including estimated 2 evenings per week during the school-year and periodic weekends year-round
  • Energetic self-starter who thrives working both independently and collaboratively
  • Delivers high-level customer service 
  • Decisive problem-solver who thinks quickly and effectively in fast-paced, live programs
 What You Will Receive: 
  • Competitive salary range $75,000-$105,000 commensurate with experience
