We are uniquely sensitive and accommodating to the unique needs of modern Jewish family, including but not limited to interfaith families, mixed-race families, LGBTQ+ families, etc.

  • Have prior experience with experiential learning.
  • Have a strong sense of their own Jewish identity.
  • Be experienced in building community in creative ways
  • Have prior experience working with children – teaching, camp, babysitting, etc.
  • Possess a sense of humor.
  • Respond well to feedback.
  • Be able to quickly adapt to our congregational norms and our school culture.
  • Thrive on building meaningful relationships.
  • Experience working in settings with children with special needs is a plus.
  • Be creative in taking existing lesson plans and adapting them into experiential activities to meet the needs of learners and the constraints of time and space.
  • Understand how to relate to students with different interests and guide/coach learners to the enduring understandings of lessons.
  • Be able to read/chant the typical prayers in a standard Reform service (preferred for 3rd, required for 4th & 5th).
  • For applicants interested in the K-3rd grades, prior experience in pre-school or early elementary years is preferred.
