About the Organization
The Institute for Curriculum Services (ICS) is dedicated to improving the accuracy of K-12 instruction and instructional materials on Jews, Judaism, Jewish history and Israel in the United States. We do this by developing standards-aligned curricula and providing professional development to teachers around the country.

Overview

ICS seeks a mission driven, experienced, creative, collaborative, motivated, and detail-oriented professional to join our team. The Director of Development will be responsible for leading the next chapter of ICS’s fundraising efforts by developing and implementing a strategic fundraising plan to build new networks of funders and steward current funders to maintain and expand support for ICS’s work.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create and implement a fundraising strategy to grow and diversify our funder base (foundations and individuals)
  • Build and manage board; Shape a culture of philanthropy on our Board and support Board members to connect their networks to ICS programs and impact
  • Build relationships with and growing funding from current funders and new networks
  • Build inspiring programming that connects funders to our work
  • Direct the work of our Grants Manager and Writer
  • Meet our annual fundraising goals (estimated at $4M+ for FY26)

About You

  • Passionate about ICS’s mission
  • Fundraising experience that includes leading the entire funder lifecycle with individuals and institutions resulting in 5, 6, and 7-figure gifts
  • Experience working with boards of directors to engage the board's networks so that the board is playing a catalytic role in the organization's ability to fundraise
  • Experience working collaboratively on a development team that successfully forecasts and conducts regular progress to goal conversations
  • Experience managing and supervising others

You Have

  • 4+ years of experience in frontline fundraising, preferably in individual and/or foundation giving
  • At least two years of experience managing and nurturing teams under tight deadlines, effectively delegating projects, and providing coaching and constructive feedback
  • Master’s degree or beyond in Communications, English Literature, Journalism, Business/ Nonprofit Administration, Education or related field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
