Hebrew School Teachers, Sept 2025-June 2026

Kol Ami, a small, growing Reconstructionist congregation in Northern Virginia, is searching for up to 3 teachers for our Jewish Children’s Educational Program (JCEP), which serves about 20 children between the ages of 6-12 years. JCEP meets in person on Sunday afternoons from 4:30-6:00 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington (UUCA) located at 4444 Arlington Blvd in Arlington, Virginia. The JCEP curriculum is typically divided into two segments: (1) Hebrew and tefilah/prayer, and (2) Judaic subjects such as ethics, Torah, history, culture, and Jewish holidays. Children are grouped into small classes based on age and abilities. We are in search of teachers for the following three age groups: 

• Ages 6-8 (1st - 2nd grade)
• Ages 8-10 (3rd - 4th grade)
• Ages 10-13 (5th - 7th grade)

Ideal candidates are qualified to teach both Judaic studies and Hebrew to a small group of students coming in with a wide range of knowledge about Judaism and Hebrew. Hourly rate will be commensurate with education and experience, up to $100 per hour of teaching time.
