Executive Director

Kohelet Yeshiva is a warm and embracing Modern Orthodox K-12 yeshiva day school committed to cultivating Bnei and Bnot Torah who think critically and creatively while exuding middot, confidence and compassion. The past eight years have seen a period of substantial institutional growth. In addition to adding its Lab and Middle School divisions, Kohelet Yeshiva embarked upon an ambitious Strategic Financial Plan anchored by lead gifts of $35 million, aimed at putting the school on solid financial footing well into the future.

Position Summary

Kohelet Yeshiva is seeking a dynamic leader to fill the position of the Executive Director (ED).

The ED serves as the school’s CFO and COO, overseeing all aspects of the institution’s budget and operations. The ED directly supports, supervises, and evaluates the school’s Finance, Operations, Communications and Marketing, and Development departments and works closely with the principal of each division.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Lead business office and oversee operations of school
2. Oversee budget process with input from relevant stakeholders
3. Review and monitor monthly financial reports and ensure school is tracking
according to budget
4. Spearhead development efforts to meet fundraising goals, including
manage and organize portfolio of new and prospective donors
5. Supervise Director of Development in preparing and executing development/
fundraising activities
6. Oversee building expansion project and associated fundraising
7. Manage vendors and third party relationships
8. Keep up to date on industry trends
9. Establish professional development goals for self and staff

Required Knowledge and Skills:
? Bachelor’s degree in business-related field; advanced degree preferred
? 5+ years experience in finance/operations and/or development
? CPA or accounting background strongly preferred
? Experience with K-12 schools strongly preferred
? Track record of successful development and fundraising
? Ability to think critically and creatively
? Superior written and oral communication skills
? Motivated self-starter with ability to work independently and collaboratively
? Strategic planning abilities to be applied toward fundraising programming

? Experience in deadline-driven environments
