Who We Are:

The Orthodox Union (OU) is one of the largest Orthodox Jewish organizations in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol, ?, is found on the labels of many kosher commercial and consumer food products.
 

Position Overview:

The Corporate Sponsorships Director will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive corporate sponsorship strategy to generate significant revenue through partnerships and sponsorships. A key component of the role is planning and managing two large-scale national fundraising events—such as a golf outing, walkathon, or corporate gala—that will engage corporate sponsors and generate high-impact funding for the OU’s programs and initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have experience in corporate sponsorship sales, event management, and donor relations, with a proven track record of securing high-value sponsorships. This individual will work closely with the Institutional Advancement team, senior leadership, and key stakeholders to maximize corporate engagement and long-term financial support.
 

Key Responsibilities:

Corporate Sponsorship Development & Revenue Generation

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate sponsorship strategy to meet and exceed annual fundraising goals.
  • Identify, cultivate, and secure high-value sponsorships ($25,000 - $100,000+) from corporations, businesses, and brands aligned with the OU’s mission.
  • Create compelling sponsorship packages and proposals that showcase the value of partnering with the OU.
  • Build and maintain long-term corporate relationships to ensure ongoing sponsorship engagement.
  • Negotiate sponsorship agreements and deliver customized activation opportunities for corporate partners.

Large-Scale Event Planning & Execution

  • Lead the planning, logistics, and execution of two major national fundraising events (e.g., a golf tournament, corporate walk, or gala) that drive sponsorship revenue.
  • Collaborate with event vendors, venues, and production teams to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Oversee event marketing and branding efforts in partnership with the Marketing & Communications team.
  • Ensure top-tier sponsor recognition and activation during events, including speaking opportunities, branding placements, and VIP experiences.
  • Track and analyze event performance metrics to refine strategies and improve outcomes.

Corporate Engagement & Stewardship

  • Develop and execute year-round corporate engagement strategies beyond events, including exclusive networking opportunities, branded content, and customized impact reports.
  • Work closely with corporate partners to align their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) goals with OU initiatives.
  • Ensure all sponsors receive high-level stewardship, including post-event reporting, impact storytelling, and recognition opportunities.
  • Manage sponsor deliverables, ensuring all contractual agreements are fulfilled.

Collaboration & Team Leadership

  • Work closely with the Institutional Advancement team, Board of Directors, and lay leaders to leverage their networks for sponsorship opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to develop sponsorship materials, digital assets, and promotional campaigns.
  • Engage regional OU representatives and program leaders to identify sponsorship opportunities aligned with specific initiatives.
  • Present on corporate sponsorship trends and best practices at OU’s Fundraising Forum, the organization’s professional development training program.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Maintain accurate records of sponsorship outreach, commitments, and financial goals in the CRM system.
  • Provide regular reports on sponsorship pipeline, revenue forecasts, and campaign performance to senior leadership.
  • Use data-driven insights to refine corporate engagement strategies and improve sponsorship outcomes.

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in corporate sponsorship sales, fundraising, or business development with a proven track record of securing high-value corporate sponsorships.
  • Experience planning and executing large-scale fundraising events (e.g., golf outings, charity walks, galas, corporate networking events).
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills with corporate leaders, decision-makers, and high-level executives.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create compelling sponsorship proposals and presentations.
  • Strong understanding of corporate partnerships, cause marketing, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) trends.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with Jewish communal and nonprofit organizations is a plus.
  • Proficiency in donor management and CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, or equivalent).
  • Willingness to travel as needed for corporate meetings, donor cultivation, and national events.
