Yeshivat Noam is an Orthodox, Zionistic, Yeshiva Day school with over 850 students located in Paramus, NJ. The position:

Yeshivat Noam seeks an Elementary School Principal to start in the Summer of 2026.  This is a wonderful opportunity to have a significant impact on students, teachers, and families, and to work closely with talented educators in a collaborative and innovative learning environment. 

This individual will lead the Elementary school and reports directly to the Head of School, Rabbi Chaim Hagler. The Principal will be a member of the Senior Administration Team and coordinate with all divisions of the school - early childhood and middle school.

The role involves the following responsibilities:

  • Educational Vision for Elementary School
    • The Elementary School Principal will have a broad knowledge of data trends to inform educational vision and oversight of student data. This individual will also oversee a broad view of Curriculum and Technology and ensure Integration and synchronization of departments.
  • Supervise Elementary School Administrators
    • This includes Assistant Principal, Elementary School Psychologist and Elementary School Director of Support.
  • Student Development & Growth: Oversee student social, emotional, behavioral, and spiritual growth.
    • Supervise and lead the mental health team.
    • Ensure effective systems to identify and support students needing intervention.
    • Promote kindness and positive behavior; intervene consistently when issues arise.
    • Set the spiritual tone by supervising the Torah “L’shmah” team and overseeing Tefilah.
  • Parent Communication: Oversee communication for Elementary school
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for parent concerns and communication.
    • Ensure proactive outreach and transparent resolution of issues.
  • Teachers Development and Supervision
    • Develop a vision for professional growth beyond curriculum.
    • Supervise and evaluate all elementary teachers in collaboration with the Assistant Principal.
    • Directly supervise specialty teachers (Art, Music, Phys. Ed and STEM).
    • Oversee the Elementary School office administrative staff.
  • Oversees/ coordinates all Administrative Functions and liaison with PR Department
    • Oversee parent orientation evenings, conferences, and anecdotal reporting.
    • Manage class placements, schedules, calendar events, shabbatonim, testing dates, drills
    • Oversee teacher communication 
  • Oversee Protocols and Procedures
    • Arrival and dismissal
    • Lunch and recess
    • Hallway conduct, bulletin boards, classroom decor
    • Computer use 

Elementary School Principal Hours:

  • 12 month position 
    • Off all days that school is closed and 4 weeks off during the summer
  • Daily
    • Start 7:45am
    • End:
      • 1 day/week admin meeting until 5:30
      • Every 2-3 weeks: senior admin meeting until 6:15pm
      • 2 days until 4:45pm
      • Friday until 2:00pm
  • After school hours
    • Evening meetings/programs (10-13 per year)
    •  Sundays:
      • 1 Sunday morning Sunrise Minyan program
      • 2 days Parent/Teacher conferences 
      • 4 half days/or 2 full days - Siddur and Chumash presentations
  • One Motzei-shabbaton per year
  • Qualifications:

    • Deep love for children and Torah
    • M.A.; an advanced degree in Jewish Studies preferred
    • Significant teaching and administrative experience
    • Fluency in Ivrit; excellent written and computer skills
