The Director of The Women’s Experience is directly responsible for the planning, implementation and management of the Women’s Experience of The Jewish Experience.  The Director establishes and maintains successful relationships with the community of women who are engaged in The Jewish Experience.  The director is also responsible for cultivating new relationships.   

 

Reports To: Managing Director

 

Supervises: PT and Adjunct Educators involved with The Women’s Experience and The Sunday Experience

 

Major Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions: 

  1. Cultivates relationships and engages women in the process of enhancing their Jewish journeys through personal connections and studying Torah. Conducts informal outreach activities in non-Jewish venues (e.g., coffee meetings), and attends community-wide events to represent TJE.
  2. Develops and implements an annual operating plan and measurable goals related to strategies for programmatic, volunteer, operational and fund development activities. 
  3. Works in collaboration with the rest of The Jewish Experience team to ensure collaboration and synergy of outreach programs. 
  4. Develops, plans and teaches ongoing classes, such as Lunch and Learns, to provide a forum for Jewish spiritual growth through Torah learning.  Incorporates innovative teaching venues and opportunities as appropriate.  
  5. Identifies, educates and motivates volunteers to actively participate in The Women’s Experience. 
  6. Plans and implements relevant committee meetings.  Organizes attendance, logistics, agenda, material preparation, including meeting minutes and follow up items. 
  7. Conducts private, one-on-one learning sessions to cater the learning material to the specific needs of the participants, provide a safe venue for exploring spiritual growth, and develop deep, personal relationships with participants including shabbat/holiday hosting. 
  8. Assists with budget preparation and monitoring for The Women’s Experience. 
  9. Represents TJE when out and about in the Jewish community, publicizes TJE programs and offerings, and recruits participants for TJE programming.
  10. Identifies potential donors and prospects and shares information with the Managing Director and Executive Director for future cultivation and/or solicitation.
  11. Supervises staff of The Sunday Experience, as well as maintaining relationships with the families
  12. Performs other duties as assigned by the Managing Director.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education:   Bachelor's degree and/or Seminary Experience

Experience:  A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the Jewish outreach world.

Other Requirements:

  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with women and cultivate meaningful learning engagements. 
  • Proven leadership and group facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, be detail oriented and exercise sound judgment.  
  • Excellent communication skills in person, on the phone and in writing. 
  • An interest in nonprofit management and programming as a profession.
  • Proficiency in Google and Microsoft suites
  • Ability to organize, monitor and  track ongoing and one-time activities, events and projects. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to meet, greet and educate with confidence. 
  • Ability to logically solve problems with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to effectively organize and monitor numerous ongoing and one-time activities, events and projects. Ability to multitask in a changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable with change and working in unknown situations. 
  • Discretion handling and communicating sensitive information. 
  • Ability to multitask in a face paced environment. 
  • A positive attitude and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done

Willingness to Learn: Understanding or ability to learn more about Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Salesforce, and Mailchimp. Photoshop or Canva experience is a plus.
