Work Location: MorseLlife main campus.

SUMMARY of POSITION:

The JewishLife at MorseLife program is designed to provide creative, engaging, and meaningful JewishLife entertainment, lectures, and holiday programming for the residents/participants. This position initiates, plans and organizes JewishLife programming for the MorseLife campus residents (Palace, Tradition, Health Center, Resnick, and Memory Care). Requires flexible hours to allow for evenings and weekends as needed.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Initiates, Plans, coordinates, and implements JewishLife programming on campus (Palace, Tradition, Health Center, Resnick, and Memory care).

2. Coordinates the JewishLife calendar and works with various activities departments on campus to ensure that JewishLife programs are listed on the appropriate monthly/daily calendars.

3. Assists with ordering of supplies and other administrative tasks.

4. Works collaboratively with other MorseLife staff, including other activity coordinators on campus regarding JewishLife programs.

5. Coordinates/sets meetings with appropriate staff on campus to run JewishLife programs.

6. Works sounds system equipment and information channel, as needed.

7. Attends appropriate campus staff meetings and provides input for new JewishLife programs based on Resident and Staff suggestions.

8. Demonstrates timely responses to inquiries about JewishLife programming.

9. Encourages resident participation in programing.

10. Assists residents with seating needs, and supply needs.

11. Documents phone messages and other communications relevant to JewishLife activities.

12. Works closely with the part-time JewishLife administrative assistant to order adequate supplies and equipment for JewishLife programs.

13. Participates in other duties including returning phone calls, arranging for vendor services, printing, and distributing activity calendars, yahrzeit forms, coordinating visits with residents, and completing event request forms.

14. Maintains good and effective communication with residents, families of the residents, and the public by interpreting and connecting them to JewishLife programs.

15. Helps set up rooms and cleans up rooms after use as appropriate.

16. Engages in at least weekly supervision with the Director of Jewish life.

17. Other duties and functions as directed by the Director of JewishLife.

18. Demonstrates effective and positive verbal and written skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate with residents and foster engaged participation for events.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid nonweather conditions, working near mechanical parts, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Regular exposure to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
