Hebrew and Jewish Education Teachers - Tuesday Afternoons

Temple Reyim in Newton MA is seeking warm and creative teachers for our new Jewish youth education program on Tuesday afternoons from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. We are a welcoming, egalitarian, inclusive community affiliated with the Conservative movement. Our goal is to provide a joyful, supportive and experiential learning environment for children grades K-7.

Responsibilities include:

• Teaching one class of between 5 to 10 students 
• Utilizing the Z’man Likro Hebrew curriculum and developing engaging lesson plans
• Helping students develop friendships and Jewish connections with one another
• Working with the Youth Education Director to support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Jewish culture, customs, traditions, and Torah.
• Strong Hebrew skills
• Experience teaching or working with children in a Jewish school or camp setting is preferred but not required

Compensation:

Salary: $45/hour

One hour prep time pay per week

Paid staff meetings on a periodic basis throughout the school year.
