Job Overview:
We are seeking a versatile and creative Media Generalist to join our team. This role requires a dynamic individual with Jewish content knowledge and skills across multiple media platforms with an emphasis on social media, email marketing, and SEO. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of the nuances of SEO for religious organization and experience with Wordpress and Elementor backends.
Using our established brand guidelines, the candidate will design and implement digital content campaigns that bring content to life in engaging and visually compelling ways. Ideal candidates are not only technically proficient but also enthusiastic about using media to foster connection, community, and cultural identity.
An understanding of Jewish culture, Conservative/Masorti traditions, and community life are strong assets, as is experience creating content for Jewish audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Social Media: Lead strategy and execution across platforms (Instagram, Facebook), including content creation, and scheduling.
- SEO & Google Ads: Design and execute a strategy for increasing Exploring Judaism’s SEO profile. Leverage our Google Ads Nonprofit grant of $10,000 a month to increase traffic and search visibility.
- Content Creation: Produce multimedia content including graphics, for use across websites, social media, and email campaigns.
- Graphic Design: Support the work of the Editor in Chief and content creators through print collateral in line with branding guidelines.
- Website and CMS: Maintain and update website content using platforms such as WordPress and Elementor.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure a consistent visual identity across all channels and projects.
- Collaboration: Work closely with communications, development, and programming teams to support storytelling, marketing campaigns, and community engagement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Media Production, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in multimedia content creation.
- Proficiency in SEO
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite a plus (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
- Demonstrated ability to create content optimized for social media platforms.
- Working knowledge of website content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Assets (Preferred but Not Required):
- Familiarity with Jewish holidays, values, traditions, and Hebrew language.
- Experience working within Jewish communal, cultural, or educational environments.
- Motion graphics or animation experience (After Effects or similar).
- Experience with KIT
- Basic HTML/CSS.
Compensation
This is a contract position of 20 - 24 hours per week, and comes with compensation of $30 - $35 per hour. This position is not eligible for benefits.
