Brandeis Hebrew Academy, a Modern Orthodox Jewish Day School located in Long Island, is seeking a passionate and experienced Middle School Judaic Studies Teacher for the upcoming academic year. This is a full-time position, with potential for part-time consideration.
Position Overview: The successful candidate will teach core Judaic Studies subjects—including but not limited to Chumash, Navi, and Torah She’baal Peh, Lashon—to students in grades 5–8. The teacher will work under the guidance of the Judaic Studies Curriculum Coordinator to ensure curriculum alignment, consistency, and educational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, age-appropriate instruction in Judaic Studies.
Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment rooted in Modern Orthodox values.
Collaborate with other faculty members and the Judaic Studies Curriculum Coordinator.
Participate in school events, parent communication, and professional development.
Support students’ spiritual, intellectual, and emotional growth.
Qualifications:
Prior classroom teaching experience, preferably in Judaic Studies and with middle school-aged students.
Strong knowledge of classical Jewish texts and fluency in Hebrew preferred.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Warm, engaging, and student-centered approach to education.
