The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah has been a pillar in the Reform Jewish Community for more than 150 years. We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Executive Director who will build on the successes of the past while positioning B’nai Jehudah as a congregation of the future.

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall business operations and management of B’nai Jehudah. The work includes implementation and supervision of all administrative functions while adhering to the principles and values outlined in our mission statement. Reporting to the President of the Board of Trustees and serving as a partner and liaison with the Senior Rabbi, the Executive Director ensures the successful operation of the congregation. You will assist the Board in creating and implementing policies and programs; directly supervise most administrative and facilities staff; oversee day-to-day operations, budgeting, and maintenance of all properties; manage membership details including recruiting and retention; supervise and execute events, programs, and activities.

The duties of the Executive Director include, but are not limited to the following:
• Fiscal Oversight
• Human Resources
• Public Relations, Development and Member Relations
• Facilities Oversight and Security
• Membership Intake & Retention
• Implementation and evolution of the Temple’s Strategic Plan

The ideal candidate:
• Bachelor’s degree finance or business or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of seven years of senior management experience involving finance, development/ fundraising, human resources, administration, facilities management, and technology
• Demonstrated ability to lead with high transparency and integrity and collaborate with staff
• Solid, hands-on budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making and reporting
• Experience managing building staff, ensuring security and maintenance of the operations and appearance of building, grounds, property and equipment (including technology, sound systems and live streaming)
• Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program management and task facilitation
• Skills to collaborate with and motivate Board members and other Volunteers
• Strong written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge and understanding of Judaism and Jewish culture preferred or willingness to learn
