Overview

The Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County is looking for a temporary Advancement Associate to join our Advancement team for 6-8 months. We are seeking a collaborative individual who is a self-starter, social-media savvy, a creative thinker and a team player. This position will support both the Director of Admissions and Director Institutional Advancement through assisting in the admissions, marketing and development process. The ideal candidate is able to manage multiple tasks, define and set priorities and creatively solve problems.

 

Job Responsibilities

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS

  • Coordinate all communications going out to school families, particularly the weekly e-newsletter, including news writing, photography and layout.
  • Support the overall editing, writing and reviewing of all internal and external communications.
  • Create and edit social media posts and videos.
  • Support all marketing and communications initiatives.

 

ADMISSIONS

  • Support the overall admissions, recruitment, and retention effort of Schechter Bergen.
  • Support the department through management of all admissions contact lists and preparation of reports.
  • Schedule parent and student admission meetings, school visits and tours.

 

EVENTS

  • Assist in orchestration of all Advancement special events including the Open House.
  • Assist with promotion and follow-up of events.

 

ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Provide general support to the Director of Admissions and the Director of Institutional Advancement.
  • Work on special projects, initiatives, promotions and other programs as needed.

 

Job Requirements

  • Effective interpersonal and presentation skills are needed.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professional ethics.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and sense of humor.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with 2-5 years’ experience in Marketing and Communications.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Google suite.
  • Experience in Constant Contact and Canva, a plus.
  • Hebrew speaker, a plus.
