Congregation Or Ami is a dynamic Reform synagogue and the center of Jewish life in the Lafayette Hill area. The Congregation is looking for an Program Director/Office Manager to join our team on a full time basis. We are seeking a highly organized individual to be our new Program Director/Office Manager for Congregation Or Ami.

Responsibilities include:

  • Create, develop, and market programs that align with the Temple's organizational mission and the needs of its members.
  • Manage program budget and resources, set sustainable event fees, seek sponsorship opportunities (when applicable), and ensure programs are within established budgets.
  • Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers. Collaborate with lay leadership and committees/teams to meet their needs to ensure program success.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, as well as experience managing websites, an easy disposition, and the ability to multitask. Experience using ShulCloud and Canva desired or have a willingness to learn.
  • Perform various clerical tasks including mailings, answering incoming calls, appropriately respond to various inquiries, direct incoming calls to correct destinations as needed.
  • Represent the Temple in a professional, personable, and approachable manner, creating a warm, welcoming, and family environment.
  • Connect with members in person and via social media/marketing to build relations and community.
  • Maintain and manage the synagogue Calendar of Events, as well as calendars for the Rabbi, Executive Director, Religious School, Early Childhood, and bar/bat mitzvahs.
  • Work closely with bar/bat mitzvah families throughout the process of preparation.
  • Manage vendor relations
  • Assist in the retention and recruitment of new members through targeted events and marketing.
  • Be available to attend Board meetings, committee meetings, and scheduled programs outside of traditional work hours.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred and/or 2-4 years of related work experience.
  • Creative thinker and problem solver with a proven ability to establish and maintain quality relationships with all age groups, various Temple constituents, Clergy, and community partners to develop and execute meaningful programs.
  • Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to multitask in order to manage multiple projects at the same time while adhering to deadlines.
  • Proven experience with social media platforms and working with a database.
  • Exemplary written and verbal skills
  • Working knowledge of Jewish holidays, customs, and traditions is a plus
  • Ability to work independently

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
