The Kol Tikvah part-time MSW/Gerontologist staff member will work with our Senior Citizen’s group expanding the reach of our current senior citizen programming 20 hours a week. Currently, Kol Tikvah has an active senior citizens program which runs multiple programs a month. This group could grow substantially through the hiring of a gerontology staff member who would provide programming and counseling primarily during daytime hours. Start date to be determined. Salary to be commensurate with experience.
Oversee and create daytime and early evening programs
Connect three times a year via phone call or home visit to each senior
Perform home analysis for our seniors who no longer are capable of living on their own
Work as a referral service for seniors with specific needs
MSW or Bachelors Degree in Social Work or Gerontology (BSG)
Minimum of two (2) years related experience (voluntary or paid) in gerontology, healthcare or long-term care advocacy
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
Demonstrated experience in performing direct service in social services or a related field
Must be vaccinated.
