Walder Group is looking to hire a talented marketer with strong communication skills who can play a pivotal role in raising awareness and increasing engagement at Kehillah Fund, Walder Education, Walder Science, and Walder Ventures. They will also develop content for the company intranet and work on other internal communications. Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following majors preferred: Marketing, Communications, PR, or related field or commensurate experience
  • 3-5+ years marketing and communications experience preferred

 

Reports directly to: VP of Communications

 

About the Walder family of organizations:

The Walder family of organizations is based in Skokie, Illinois and includes Walder Foundation, Walder Institute, Walder Ventures and Walder Group. Walder Group is an employee-holding company that supports all Walder organizations. The Group handles the key areas of communications, finance, IT and human resources.

 

Position Summary:

Reporting to the VP of Communications, the Marketing & Communications Manager will plan and implement marketing campaigns to increase brand awareness across the Walder entities. The Marketing & Communications Manager will also play a key role in developing internal communications, including content and enhancements to the company intranet.

 

Job Duties

The specific duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:

  • Solicit and incorporate feedback to enhance the company intranet and ensure that it successfully unifies the various Walder organizations
  • Collaborate with leadership of Walder organizations to populate news content for the company intranet
  • Develop communications and marketing plans for each Walder program in consultation with Walder Institute leadership and VP of Communications
  • Develop and manage Walder brands across multiple channels: websites, videos, media outreach, social media, email marketing, events and print
  • Set up and update email marketing blasts and assist with segmentation
  • Monitor, analyze and report on marketing data and trends
  • Content development and creation: Write, edit and publish content for websites, social and digital channels, email newsletters and company intranet
  • Manage and grow social media channels: develop content and monitor and track engagements; develop quarterly reports on the performance of digital channels
  • Develop and oversee communications calendar
  • Oversee, update, and maintain program websites

 

Qualifications, Skills & Characteristics:

  • Outstanding communication, writing, and editing skills with experience crafting compelling content for web, email, and print
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WordPress and Mailchimp or other email marketing platforms
  • Understanding of SEO, Google Analytics, and Facebook/LinkedIn Ads
  • Good organizational, planning, and coordination skills
  • Desire to take full ownership of assigned projects and take the initiative, utilizing creativity and discretion
  • Work well independently and is self-motivated and detail-minded
  • Proven ability to develop trusted relationships with colleagues and work cross-functionally with internal leaders and peers
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and re-prioritize as needed
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills; ability to clearly articulate project goals and requirements
  • Comfort with digital communications platforms
  • An outstanding storyteller with strong writing and editing skills, leadership capabilities and attention to detail
  • Knowledge and understanding of cultural norms within the Orthodox Jewish community
  • Basic working knowledge of written Hebrew

 

Additional Information:

  • Based on current circumstances, this position requires in-office work at 5215 Old Orchard Rd, Skokie, IL at least two days per week, with regular visits to each of the Walder program sites. Work schedule and remote work capability is subject to change at Walder Group's discretion.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods in an indoor office environment.
  • Must be able to navigate throughout various offices of the building.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information and perform duties.
  • Ability to read materials on a computer screen.
  • Repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Moderate noise level consistent with an office environment.

 

Work Environment:

  • Equipment: Computer equipment is provided by the company.  
  • Facilities: The offices are located on the 10th, 6th and 4th floors, with elevator access. There is a parking garage with spots that are both covered and uncovered. The building has a security officer on staff in the lobby during normal business hours.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

The Walder Group offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, vision, dental, disability and life insurance along with a professional development reimbursement plan subject to limits. Salary is between $70,000-$80,000 and commensurate with experience. The Walder Group also offers an incentive plan, subject to meeting specific requirements. Walder Group employees can participate in a matching donation program that provides a triple match on up to $2,000 of annual donations to qualifying charitable organizations.
