Biology TeacherHeichal HaTorah – Teaneck, NJ
About the SchoolHeichal HaTorah is a growing boys’ yeshiva high school in Teaneck, New Jersey, serving approximately 220 students. Our students combine rigorous Judaic studies with a strong General Studies program, and the vast majority of graduates continue their education at Yeshiva University and Landers College for Men. Our school prides itself on a warm, collaborative faculty and a serious academic environment.
Position OverviewHeichal HaTorah is seeking to add talented and dedicated educators to our strong Science Department for the upcoming school year. A 9th grade Biology teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-based instruction in foundational life science topics such as cell biology, genetics, ecology, and human body systems. The teacher designs lessons, labs, and assessments that build scientific literacy, critical thinking, and inquiry skills while supporting a range of learning styles. Additionally, the teacher fosters a structured and supportive classroom environment, communicates regularly with parents and staff, and monitors student progress to ensure academic growth.
Courses AvailableWe are seeking a 9th-grade biology teacher for two periods.
Courses may be taught at a variety of academic levels.
ScheduleClasses meet Monday–Thursday from 2:25-3:55 pmEach class period is 40 minutes long.
Compensation
$12,000–$14,500 per period, depending on education and experience. Full-time teachers have the option of joining our health care plan.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
Background in Biology
Teaching experience at the high school level preferred
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Passion for working with high school students
A strong ability to connect with students and build a positive student-teacher relationship.
