Assistant Vice President, Development / Planned Giving

 

Play a pivotal role in helping drive the overall philanthropic support and reach of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh.

Reporting to the Associate Vice-President of Development and Foundation, the AVP will be responsible for growing all aspects of its diverse portfolio of funding streams with a keen focus on growing the Foundation beyond the $320 million in assets currently under management. With record-breaking fundraising in place – a total of $47.2 million across all income streams last year– the AVP will be joining the Federation at an exciting moment in their ongoing journey to achieve their vision of a flourishing Jewish community where everyone feels included, supported, and inspired.

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Law degree preferred with background in estate planning and tax law or comparable degree in a relevant field (ie. Tax accounting, non-profit management, philanthropy in another Jewish organization, hospital or university setting) or equivalent professional experience in planned giving and endowment required. CFRE or CAP certification is a plus.
  • Seven-plus years of proven success in annual and/or planned gift fundraising.
  • Experience working with volunteers and the non-profit sector, highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of CRM databases a plus.
  • Proven track record in endowment fundraising results in a goal-oriented environment, including closing current and/or deferred major gifts of $100,000+.
  • Strong knowledge of the Jewish community, culture, and practices. Passion for the mission of Federation and the Jewish community including Israel and world Jewry.
  • An understanding of and the ability to articulate the accomplishments and goals of a complex organization.
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles as well as estate and financial planning techniques.

COMPENSATION

This position has a competitive hiring range of $110,000 to $130,000 a year commensurate with experience.
