POSITION OVERVIEW 

The Development Manager at Congregation Rodeph Sholom plays a pivotal role in advancing our comprehensive fundraising strategy to ensure the long-term sustainability of the synagogue. The Development Manager will work in concert with the Director of Development to collaborate with stakeholders to enhance engagement and participation in synagogue life, drive diverse revenue streams, and support key fundraising initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Director of Development in implementing fundraising strategies to achieve organizational goals.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the development department, including donor stewardship, prospect research, and gift processing.
  • Coordinate fundraising events and campaigns, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to steward congregant engagement and foster interest in synagogue-wide fundraising efforts.
  • Supervise the Development Assistant, providing guidance and support in their tasks and professional development.
  • Manage the department’s strategic calendar, ensuring all fundraising initiatives are well-coordinated and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Provide support for key development initiatives, including the Annual Appeal, Social Action Efforts, and operational fundraising efforts.
  • Manage expense management processes, including submitting invoices, expense reports, billing & acknowledgments.
  • Provide administrative support, including mailings, coordinating events, donor communication, and tracking data.
  • Generate reports and analytics for donor engagement and giving activity.
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience in fundraising or development.
  • Familiarity with the Jewish calendar and lifecycle events is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and CRM platforms (Salesforce) is required.
  • Experience with communication and financial platforms such as Zoom, MS Teams, Monday.com, Concur, and Classy is strongly preferred.

 WORK SCHEDULE 

Our team works on a hybrid schedule with an option for 1-2 days of remote work.

  • Flexibility required to adapt to short- and long-term shifts in job duties.
  • Working hours are generally 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (4:00 PM on Fridays); additional hours may be required evenings, weekends, and holidays.

SALARY & BENEFITS 

  • Salary range: $65,000 – $70,000, commensurate with experience.

Salaries are based on a number of factors, including qualifications and experience, and are non-negotiable due to pay equity practices.

VACCINATION POLICY 

  • All staff must be fully vaccinated, including booster shot. Proof of vaccination is required at start of employment.
