6th & 7th Grade Judaics Teacher

Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation in Reston, VV, is seeking a part-time religious school teacher for Sunday morning in-person classes. We are searching for a dedicated and passionate individual to teach on our Chalutzim (6th & 7th grade) team alongside two of our clergy and other members of staff.

The ideal candidate:

• Is excited to teach middle school students.
• Is a team player.
• Is knowledgeable and confident about their Jewish identity.
• Is passionate and excited about sharing their Jewish knowledge with students.
• Has some experience writing lesson plans and preparing lesson materials (not required).
• Has some experience teaching middle school students (strongly preferred).

We're currently seeking a teacher for the following content area:

• Israel: This course gives our middle school students the opportunity to learn about the history and culture of Israel and help our students evaluate their relationship to the country, land, and people of Israel.

Hours: 9:00am-12:00pm Sunday mornings, plus 30 minutes of lesson planning time per week, plus trainings throughout the year.

Compensation: Competitive; commensurate with experience.
