DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

TOP provides planned giving expertise assisting organizations and donors in our various communities to make a positive impact locally, nationally and worldwide. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida, TOP has achieved significant growth and is seeking a full-time Development Associate to join its dynamic organization.

DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

TOP’s ongoing success is dependent on building a community of forward-thinking donors and investors who seek to make an impact in the community and around the world. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Associate position is part of a professional career track supporting marketing, donor relations, accounting and general office functions. As an integral part of the small, but mighty staff, the Development Associate will participate in all team, board and planning meetings. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, adaptive, personable, and enthusiastic individual. Candidates should have experience and interest in a career in marketing, development or business with a client/donor centered focus.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES

  • Provide marketing, development and accounting support to professional staff.
  • Collaborate with team on the creation and implementation of a marketing and communications plan with compelling messages that convey the mission, work and impact of TOP to internal and external audiences.
  • Assist with content creation and edits to website, eBlasts, eNewsletters, advertisements, marketing collateral, press releases, and social media.
  • Support legacy program including documentation and tracking systems.
  • Support accounting staff including gift and grant processing activities.
  • Communicate directly with donors, community, prospective donors, board and staff.
  • Support trustee and committee meetings.
  • Support general office functions.
  • Foster a culture of philanthropy, assist and attend strategic projects and events.
  • Perform duties as assigned.

 Qualifications and Skills 

  • Bachelor’s degree; minimum of 3 years of professional work experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrates capacity to multitask, stay organized and proactively manage workflow to meet deadlines
  • Strong computer skills.  Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, web management, Canva, social media, and donor database preferred. Ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Marketing and graphic design abilities are a great plus
  • Knowledge of Jewish customs preferred
  • Willingness to work additional hours as required
  • Demonstrated ability to accept and apply feedback, follow leadership and align with organizational decisions.
  • Professional presence and self-starter
  • Pass all required criminal history background checks.
  • Adhere to our mission, values, and all policies and procedures. 
  • Position is in Tampa, FL office; some travel locally and within Florida.
  • Must be able to meet routine office physical demands including climbing stairs, carrying up to 20-pound objects and possessing dexterity and vision to operate office computers and equipment.
