Ann & Nate Levine Academy | Dallas, TX, United States

Posted Date 1/13/2022
Description
Ann & Nate Levine Academy, a preschool through
Grade 8 Jewish Day School in Dallas, TX, is now
searching for qualified candidates for the
position of Director of Jewish Life & Learning who
will lead the school's Judaic teaching and learning,
bring passion and creativity to the Levine
Jewish experience, and uphold the cherished
traditions, programs, and celebrations the school
has developed over its 43 year existence. This
is an exciting time to join the Levine Academy
team, as it pursues its strategic course of
enhancing educational excellence throughout the
Jewish and general studies curriculum, seizing
on innovative, 21st century teaching strategies,
and delivering the school's Jewish culture with
vibrancy, spirit, and creativity. The Director
of Jewish Life & Learning will have a unique
opportunity to accelerate the school's pathway
to becoming a national model day school.

About Levine Academy:
Levine Academy's mission statement begins with
these words: "Ann & Nate Levine Academy is an
inclusive, dynamic Jewish day school..."
That initial word, "inclusive," is very important
to us. Levine is an inclusive day school, meaning we
embrace all Jews and champion every child's
individual Jewish journey. We are the only non-
orthodox Jewish day school in the entire
Dallas metroplex. Levine Academy is also awaiting
confirmation (expected this spring) of its full
accreditation with ISAS (Independent Schools Association
of the Southwest) which is the premier private school
accreditation agency throughout the six state
Southwest region. The general and Judaic studies
curriculum is fully cutting edge--STEM, student-
centered, active/engagement focused, rigorous
throughout, with continual academic alignment with
the top private schools--and an ongoing, phenomenal
100% placement of its 8th grade students into the top
high schools of their choice.

The second Mission Statement term, "dynamic," means
that Levine is ever-evolving. We are not a school that
is ever complacent; we lean forward, we move forward.
We are a school in motion. We always seek and value
professional development for our staff, and our Board
knows that "PD" is equivalent to the research and
development line for a major corporation.

The new Director will join a leadership team
enthusiastically committed to establishing
an innovative, challenging, student-centered
educational experience for its growing student
body. The school's direction is fully
21st century, taking advantage of multiple
source curricular strategies and employing complex
instructional approaches that cultivate
students' unique learning strengths and styles.
The Levine Academy community of current
and alumni families takes enormous pride
in the richness of the Jewish life of the school,
including community service, Shabbat
opportunities, parent ambassadorship, and supportive
partnerships with the school's administrative
team and faculty.

The most desirable candidates will be excellent
communicators who collaborate well with adults
across the constituencies in ways that promote
the teaching and learning community; promote
diversity and enhance inclusivity; infuse community,
family, and Jewish values; inspire excellence;
and cultivate growth and openness. Ideally,
candidates will be fluent in Hebrew, while
being fully knowledgeable and personally anchored
in Judaism, and they will have demonstrated a strong
commitment to the furtherance of Jewish journeys
in the lives of young people.

For candidates throughout the country not familiar
with the Dallas/Ft. Worth region, we want you to
know a few features about our area: Dallas area
is one of the fastest emerging economies in the
country, with a growing Jewish population, and
favorable standard of living benchmarks when
compared to the nation's top twenty most populous
metropolitan areas. The city is culturally rich
and vibrant, with a vast array of premier arts
and performance institutions. Dallas maintains
several kosher restaurants and kosher food is
available in several major grocery chains. Its
growth is marked through the availability of
synagogues with walking potential. Relocation
assistance will be made available to the successful candidate.

Interested candidates should send a cover/query
letter, a Jewish educational philosophy statement,
and resume to Levine Academy Head of School,
Tom Elieff, at [email protected], plus a
list of three to five references, whom we will
contact only following your consent.
