For the 2024/2025 School Year

The Lower School Hebrew educator will develop the student’s active linguistic ability, based on knowledge and proficiency in the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.  The active linguistic ability is built gradually from the simple to the more complex and from passive knowledge to creative activity. Although all levels use the same linguistic elements—genres, layers, and registers—the levels of achievement are measured on several continuums: length of texts, the richness of vocabulary, frequency/infrequency of words, the syntactic complexity of the sentences, and rhetorical complexity of the texts.  Foster a sense of belonging to the Jewish people, and cultivate strong ties with Medinat Yisrael (the State of Israel) and Am Yisrael (the Jewish people).
