B’nai Shalom Day School is a non-profit Southern Association of Independent Schools accredited day school, currently serving children 2 months through 8th grade. We are seeking an enthusiastic professional as our Director of Philanthropy & Community Engagement to foster community connections and advance our institution's mission.. In this position, you will play a pivotal part in fostering relationships within our community and securing support to shape the future of our school.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB INCLUDE: 

  • Developing strategies for community engagement and solicitation efforts to ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of the school.
  • Creating and executing a comprehensive advancement plan, encompassing major gifts, annual fund donations, grant applications, alumni outreach, and fundraising events.
  • Collaborating closely with school leadership to integrate development initiatives into various communications and materials.
  • Cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, including board members, alumni, parents, and community members.
  • Managing gift processing, donor acknowledgment, database maintenance, and financial reporting.
  • Participating in school and community events to promote fundraising endeavors.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Preferred, though not required, candidates will have three-to-four years of experience in nonprofit or development roles, with a preference for experience within an educational setting. Training will be provided for exceptional candidates who demonstrate potential in these areas.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of creative thinking.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in computer skills; experience with donor management systems is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
