Beth El Congregation — Pikesville, MD Compensation: $25/hour

The Executive Assistant will help manage communication, scheduling, and organizational systems that are essential to the rabbi’s work. The ideal candidate is proactive, reliable, tech-savvy, and skilled at keeping multiple streams of information clear, accessible, and up to date.
Email Management: Monitor and triage the rabbi’s email inbox, identify important messages, and ensure clutter and nonessential emails are removed or archived appropriately.
Calendar Coordination: Maintain and update the rabbi’s calendar; schedule meetings; ensure appropriate buffers between appointments; and anticipate potential scheduling conflicts.
Daily Memo Preparation: Develop and maintain a consistent system for producing a Daily Briefing Memo each afternoon, outlining:
The schedule for the next day (and a preview of the following two days)
Priority emails that require follow-up
Congregants or issues requiring attention
Relevant reminders, notes, and logistical details
Information Tracking & Organization: Create and maintain efficient systems for tracking tasks, follow-ups, pastoral needs, and ongoing projects.
Optional (but ideal): Comfort making or receiving occasional phone calls on the rabbi’s behalf for scheduling or follow-up.
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
Strong written communication skills
High level of reliability, discretion, and professionalism
Comfort with digital tools (Google Workspace, Outlook, shared drives, etc.)
Ability to work independently and anticipate needs
Prior administrative or executive assistant experience preferred, but not required
Approximately 4 hours per day, Monday–Friday (timing flexible)
$25 per hour
