Position overview:
We are looking for a Mailroom and Shipping Lead to work out of our Rockville Centre, NY Office. The Shipping Lead is a member of the RVC Warehouse Team and is responsible for all shipping, equipment, supplies, and processes required for packing and shipping products and materials from Jewish National Fund's Rockville Centre Facility and assists other JNF locations with their shipping as needed. This position ensures that all packages and first-class mail are shipped promptly, utilizing software to track and check delivery. This is a full-time position that reports into the Manager of Fulfillment.
Responsibilities:
Shipping:
- Ensure all products and materials are shipped promptly as set in JNF shipping guidelines and with tracking when applicable (including campaign mailings, receipts and acknowledgments, and event materials).
- Operate and maintain shipping equipment (S.M.A.R.T. System, postal meter, FedEx PC, folder), calling for maintenance when needed.
- Monitor and replenish fund balance for the postal meter.
- Perform QA to ensure products shipped match customer orders and address matches accompanying paperwork (inspects labels, barcodes, and other materials related to completed orders/shipments).
- Package products and materials as needed.
- Monitor packing supplies and reorder as needed product-related shipping supplies.
- Maintain shipping and product prep area and equipment in clean and orderly condition.
- Schedule pickups and deliveries by UPS, FedEx, USPS.
- Provide labels to fundraising offices and arrange pickups (call tags) when needed.
- Resolve issues regarding shipped orders.
- Assist in warehouse functions as needed.
- Other tasks related to shipping as needed.
Warehouse:
- Provides support as needed to keep the general warehouse area safe and organized, with receiving and stocking in the warehouse, and delivery of supplies to departments within RVC and to all JNF locations as needed.
Facilities:
- Provides support delivering supplies within RVC and other light facilities functions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills are required.
- Ability to work independently.
- Valid US driver's license
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
- Mailroom experience a plus.
