Description

Beth Torah Benny Rok Campus seeks a full-time Assistant Youth Director to work with our vibrant youth community. Working collaboratively with staff and lay leaders, the Assistant Director will ensure that Beth Torah’s youth activities are fun and engaging Jewish experience. Beth Torah provides youth programming for child in grades Kindergarten to 12th grade.  Working to bridge the gap between our different educational models and building a Jewish learning experience that starts in pre-school and seamlessly continues onwards into college and beyond.

 

The Assistant Director of Youth Engagement reports to the Director of Programming and is responsible for the following:

Youth Engagement 

  • Building relationships with current families and recruiting new families to the youth department.
  • Create and host a calendar of events for all youth activities to meet socially.
  • Promote the programs being offered to the entire Beth Torah community.
  • Send out weekly communication regarding upcoming programs and events. 
  • Attend & assist with monthly Family Friends Shabbat Programming
  • Coordinate Youth High Holiday Activities. Plan a schedule of activities for grades K - 5 on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
  • Provide meaningful High Holiday Teen programming.
  • Create forms and manage registration for all youth group events.
  • Be a positive role model for our children

Experience in camp and youth group setting. 

Relationship Management. Ability to create a welcoming and inclusive environment that fosters community and engages children to want to participate.  Ability to develop strong relationships with youth, parents, colleagues, and lay leaders; exhibits high emotional intelligence; good listener and compassionate partner. 

Creative & Passionate. Inspires youth to participate and embrace Judaism through innovative, creative, and meaningful experiences. Thinks creatively and is willing to innovate and experiment. Has an outlook that is positive, assertive, and flexible. Highly motivated self-starter, willing to try new things and ask for help. Comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. 

Administration. Ability to assess needs and opportunities for success and willingness to improvise, be flexible, and make changes as needed. Able to manage projects and maintain organizational skills in a multi-tasking environment.  

Communication. Effective and efficient verbal and virtual communication skills. Comfortable speaking with various individuals.  Open and effective communication and a relatable and professional manner with internal and external stakeholders.  Strong presentation skills which include a high level of comfort, confidence, and enthusiasm in front of groups of all ages.

Salary

The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $50,000.
