Beth El Congregation is a 1700 family synagogue that feels much smaller than it's size. We are seeking a professional to join our team to help us tell our stories. Our team is close knit, supportive, and works in a collaborative fashion, and we can't wait to welcome our newest teammate.
Our communications department is seeking a Storyteller who can elevate our social media presence, enhance our writing, and be a creative and exciting partner as we look to engage our community in different ways. The two main areas that will be focused on from the start are social media and written content for our weekly emails, monthly bulletins, and our Holiday Guides. Over time there will be opportunities to grow and have a meaningful contribution to other areas of our professional team.
Social Media Management:
- Planning and developing social media campaigns
- Crafting compelling content
- Posting content across social media accounts
- Engaging with members and guests on different channels
- Analyzing running campaigns
- Being on top of the latest social media trends
Storytelling Management:
- Create marketing and promotional materials, both print and electronic
- Copyedit, proofread, and revise communications
- Recommend, implement and maintain site design and operation
- Develop fresh content ideas
- Manage information
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 2 years in full-time, marketing/communications role
- Demonstrates enthusiasm, proactivity, flexibility, and organization.
- Strong writing, copy editing, and content management skills required across all media channels
- Ability to think and communicate strategically across a variety of stakeholders
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on project management
- Experience managing communication/editorial calendars, media vendors and public relations
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the use of web, digital and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, SEO/SEM, E-Communications, Video, Google Analytics)
- Ability to professionally interact with staff and volunteers at all levels
- Comfortability and some knowledge of Judaism and synagogue life
This is a full time position, supervised by the Creative Content Manager. We are located in Baltimore, MD, but will consider remote applicants.
