Job Title: Assistant Director - Fundraising

Reports to: Camp Director

Position Purpose: The Assistant Director - Fundraising is responsible for managing and running the fundraising operations for Beber Camp. This person should be passionate about camp and have a background in fundraising, sales, or the willingness to learn about fundraising.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Cultivate and solicit donors as well as set up solicitations for staff and board members contributing to meeting annual fundraising goals
    • Continually seek out and develop relationships with new alumni and donors
  • Create a yearly fundraising plan and manage the day to day initiatives 
  • Manage and operate the fundraising platform  
    • Deliver reports
    • Keep up to date with fundraising technologies
  • Build alumni engagement strategy to bring in new donors, strengthen the community, and manage multiple fundraising committees 
  • Develop communications
    • Create and deliver monthly alumni newsletters
    • Create year end appeals and write thank you letters 
    • Update website
    • Work with the social media team
  • Run and attend all organizational events where donors are present
  • Work with comptroller 
    • Help with audits and perform reconciliations
  • Manage existing grants and their required reporting, manage the annual process, and research for new grant opportunities
  • Organize and create opportunities to display Beber history for alumni engagement and pitch new Beber families, along with the support of Beber alumni
  • Create and execute an anniversary opportunity strategy for “Beber at 50” in 2026
  • Provide donor experiences at Beber Camp during the summer and special events
  • Set up future Beber families to tour camp and provide logistical support
  • During summer months, serve as part of camp leadership team and work full time at camp with summer responsibilities

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-4 years of experience
    • Must live at Beber Camp in the summer months
    • Must be outgoing, comfortable engaging with people, both within and outside of the organization
    • Previous experience at Beber or another summer camp setting preferred
    • Ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines and prioritize is critical
    • Demonstrated proficiency with technology, including advanced spreadsheet work, communication software, and design work
    • Basic budgeting skills
    • Effective written and oral communication skills
    • Valid driver’s license

    • Exceptional attention to detail. Keeps accurate and comprehensive records

    Physical Aspects of the Job:

    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, up to 60 minutes
    • Ability to be outside or indoors for extended periods of time
    • ­Ability to use a telephone, computer, and other electronic devices
    • Ability to walk up and down stairs
    • ­Ability to quickly walk to remote locations on camp property over uneven terrain
