Song Leader

Bnai Keshet seeks an enthusiastic, spiritual, and dynamic song leader to teach music in our congregational school (the Bet Midrash), lead children's services on Shabbat mornings, lead children's High Holiday services with our rabbis, and lead music during our Congregational Retreat (held late May/early June annually).

The ideal candidate:

• has experience leading song and worship
  
• engages both children and adults
• has a warm and inviting spirit
• has a pleasing song-leader voice and plays guitar or other portable instrument 
• is enthusiastic about their Judaism 

Bnai Keshet is a vibrant, dynamic, and friendly Reconstructionist congregation in suburban NJ, easily accessible by major highways and midtown direct train service to Manhattan. We have a long history of music in our adult and children's services, and many opportunities for professional development for musicians. We are also eager to train applicants who have experience in song leading but need additional support in leading prayer.

For the right candidate, this job may grow to include Monday and Wednesday afternoon/evening hours in our congregational school in addition to Shabbat mornings.
