Teachers at the Ginsburg Solomon Schechter Early Childhood Center work with 2, 3, 4 or 5-year-old children and create learning environments that support the social, emotional, cognitive and intellectual growth of young children through establishing trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. At the ECC, teachers are supported and given opportunities for professional growth. Teachers uphold the ECC's vision and philosophy and participate in reflective practice.
Teachers are responsible for:
- Creating a nurturing and stimulating environment using a Reggio approach to an Emergent Curriculum
- Preparation of a classroom environment that supports children's learning and growth
- Implement a relationship centered, social-constructivist approach in the classroom
- Providing a joyful and safe environment for young children
- Bringing a Constructivist mindset to teaching
- Building curriculum around play based learning
- Attention to aesthetic approach in creating the environment
- Creating explorations that guide the children's learning and support the school's mission to educate young Jewish children
- Documentation of children's learning
- Project work
- Communication with parents
- Maintaining a clean, well-organized, fully-supplied classroom
- Visible learning displays
- Attending faculty meetings and participate in professional development
