Graphic/Web Designer (part-time)

Westchester Reform Temple in Scarsdale, NY (WRT) is one of Westchester’s most prominent synagogues, and among the leading Reform Jewish congregations in the country.  WRT is a vibrant and ever-evolving community with a variety of spiritual and religious service offerings, an innovative religious school (the Jewish Learning Lab), a thriving Early Childhood Center, and active adult and empty nester cohorts.

WRT is looking for a talented graphic designer to join our team of dedicated professionals. This part-time position is responsible for a wide range of duties to support the communications of the temple in the areas of graphic design, project management, digital marketing, and web design. This position will report to the Communications Director and work closely with other senior staff to meet the needs of the WRT community.

Job responsibilities:

• To produce artwork for marketing material as required, including flyers, invitations, posters, newsletters, banners, images, and other publication needs
• To design and implement content for social media-led campaigns, email campaigns, and website pages / graphics
• To work closely with the Communications Director on brand presence in the Jewish community
• To help deepen our brand engagement with current members
• To meet regularly with the Communications Director to determine weekly design priorities
• To complete projects by agreed timelines
• To engage and respond to key project stakeholders on concepts and artwork
• To keep up-to-date with the latest software design and trends
• Be committed to the aims of Westchester Reform Temple and act as an ambassador for the organization
• To execute weekly responsibilities such as updating the website pages content and the graphic information screens in the lobby
• Work collaboratively with other colleagues across the organization to ensure the WRT can achieve its vision, mission and strategy
• Other related projects and assignments as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator); PowerPoint; Constant Contact & WordPress
• Organized and Flexible: Ability to work on many projects at once, meeting multiple deadlines, sometimes with a quick turnaround
• Must be able to build positive internal and external relationships with a team approach
• Work with WRT vendors and other resources to produce projects on time and with high quality
• 3 to 5 years experience in graphic design is preferred

Salary Range: $35,000 - $45,000 for 20 hours per week, depending on credentials and experience.
