 Position Overview: 

The Narberth Havurah seeks a dynamic and enthusiastic Community Coordinator to assist its lay-leaders in maintaining its vibrant and engaged community. As the Community Coordinator, you will play a supportive role in fostering positive relationships, facilitating communication, and organizing events to enhance engagement and growth within our community. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about community building, possess excellent communication and organizational skills, and enjoy working in a collaborative and community led organization.

 

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Event Coordination: Support lay-led committees in coordinating all aspects of the High Holidays, holidays throughout the year and community events both online and in-person (such as NarbEarth Day, Pride in the Park, Chanukah Lighting at Narberth Station) to strengthen connections among community members and promote networking and knowledge sharing.

 

Member Support: Respond to member inquiries and provide assistance to ensure a positive experience for all community participants, which includes sending email to new and prospective members, adding and integrating new members into mailing lists.

 

Content Creation: Collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging and relevant content for community members, including weekly “Havurah Happenings” newsletter, Friday emails with reminders of Havurah gatherings and events, and any other social media updates.  

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or related fields preferred.
  • Proven experience in community management, event coordination, or Jewish leadership/education is a plus
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and experience with web design/development or social media preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in using social media platforms and community management tools.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Empathetic and approachable with a keen ability to handle conflicts and provide effective resolutions.
  • A self-starter with a creative mindset and the ability to generate fresh ideas for community engagement.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends to accommodate community events and activities.

 

Work Schedule and Compensation: This is a part-time position that will last from September 2023 through June 2024, requiring approximately 5-10 hours per week, depending upon the events on the calendar.
