Marketing & Communications Manager

Reports to: Head of School

Hours and Location:
Full time, on-site Monday–Thursday 8 am–4 pm; Friday 8 am–1:30 pm. Occasional nights or weekends as needed.

Salary Range: $55,000–$60,000

Position Overview

The Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for creating and executing marketing initiatives that directly drive student enrollment and retention. This is a hands-on role for a high-energy, creative professional who thrives on producing content, growing community visibility, and generating measurable results.

The ideal candidate will bring fresh ideas, hustle, and a proactive mindset to ensure SSLI is widely known, talked about, and shared within the Jewish community and beyond.

Primary Responsibilities

Enrollment & Retention Marketing

  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns that increase inquiries, tours, and applications.
  • Create and promote referral programs, open houses, and admissions events to prospective families.
  • Build relationships with parent ambassadors and other community connectors to increase word-of-mouth referrals.

Social Media & Digital Marketing

  • Manage SSLI’s daily social media presence (Instagram, Facebook, and additional platforms as appropriate).
  • Capture and post real-time photos and videos showcasing school life, events, and student achievements.
  • Increase engagement and reach through creative, shareable content and timely responses to comments and messages.

Content Creation & Storytelling

  • Write, design, and distribute marketing materials, flyers, and newsletters using Canva or similar tools.
  • Develop stories that highlight students, alumni, and school events to inspire pride and attract new families.

Community Outreach & Visibility

  • Build and maintain relationships with synagogues, preschools, and community organizations to expand SSLI’s reach.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for earned media coverage (local papers, blogs, and community websites).

Event Marketing & Promotion

  • Promote admissions events and school-wide activities to drive attendance and excitement.
  • Capture and share live updates from events to showcase SSLI’s vibrant community.

Tracking & Reporting

  • Maintain a marketing calendar and track performance metrics (inquiries, tours, social media growth, email open rates).
  • Provide regular updates to the Head of School on marketing performance and enrollment progress.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 1–3 years of marketing experience with a focus on social media, content creation, or event promotion; education or nonprofit experience a plus.
  • Strong social media skills and comfort taking photos and videos.
  • High energy, proactive, and results-driven; thrives on making things happen quickly.
  • Strong writing skills and basic design skills (Canva or Adobe).
  • Outgoing and personable; comfortable networking with families and community partners.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects at once.
