About the Position:
The Shefa School is seeking a Full-Time Hebrew Reading Teacher for September 2025 to teach
in the Lower School (Grades K-5).
Key Responsibilities:
The Hebrew Teacher will be responsible for teaching Hebrew literacy to English-speaking
students with language-based learning disabilities. The language of instruction is English. The
emphasis of Hebrew instruction at Shefa is on reading and comprehending text with the goal of
enabling students to ultimately access traditional Jewish texts. In addition to developing
curriculum and delivering instruction, the Hebrew teacher will be responsible for assessing
student learning, managing classroom routines and behavior, building relationships and
communicating with families, and collaborating with other faculty.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have training and expertise in literacy and the Science of Reading, and
experience using multisensory Orton-Gillingham instruction and in working with students with
language-based learning disabilities, and proficient Hebrew language skills. Candidates should
demonstrate flexibility and comfort with risk-taking and ambiguity. We seek teachers who thrive in

Applicants must have at least 3 years of teaching experience and the ability and willingness to work
with students in various group settings, using multiple teaching methods.
