Program Associate
Your 2023-2025 Southern Adventure Awaits!

The Goldring/Woldenberg Institute of Southern Jewish Life (ISJL) needs enthusiastic and passionate Program Associates to live in Jackson, Mississippi and travel across our Southern Region.

The ISJL’s mission is to support, connect, and celebrate Jewish Life in the South. The Education service area of the ISJL seeks to provide every Jewish child in the South with an excellent Jewish education, no matter where they live or the size of their religious school. Program Associates work for two years with Jewish communities across the South who range in size from fewer than ten students to hundreds of students.

Program Associates will receive extensive training as they work to:

  • Provide resources to directors and teachers in implementing a comprehensive religious school curriculum
  • Execute stellar and innovative programming in Jewish communities across the South
  • Lead Shabbat, holiday, and other worship services
  • Create exciting programming for all age groups
  • Participate in writing curriculum

What you will gain:

ISJL Program Associates gain tremendous experience in this position building education, communal service, t'filah (worship), and leadership skills during their time at the Institute. Program Associates are based in our office in Jackson, Mississippi, and travel all over the South visiting unique communities. On-the-job training is provided, as well as salary, expenses, and benefits. Upon completion of their time at the Institute, many Program Associates get accepted into top graduate programs and receive quality job offers in the Jewish community.


Qualifications:

College degree, involvement in Jewish life/organizations, and (eventually) two reference contacts
