How do we help children bring Judaism to life for themselves? This is the question that motivates our youth learning at Kerem Shalom, a progressive Jewish community in Concord, Massachusetts, as we seek educators who want to join us in this wondrous work.
We have recently transformed our learning environment to "Hebrew School Reimagined," an experiential learning experience that nurtures creativity, community, and joy. Students in grades 3-6 choose an elective in which they engage in deep Jewish learning through a variety of activities. IWe have offered: drama, drumming, visual arts, American Sign Language, ceramics, and we are looking to expand and vary the choices we can offer by bringing in new specialists.
Individuals with a passion for a particular activity that could be a vehicle for Jewish learning are encouraged to apply for a position beinging your passion together with Judaism. We will help! TECH? ARTS? MUSIC? STEM? OUTDOORS? Your imagination is the only limit!
Our Experiential Elective Teachers are part of a supportive, professional 'alternative' Hebrew School faculty and are supervised by Kerem Shalom’s Director of Education and Engagement. Previous experience working with children, especially those with diverse learning needs, is a preferred qualification. CAMP experience is a huge plus! If you can inspire Jewish children, we want to meet you!
