The synagogue administrator interfaces with the rabbi, board members and congregants, and manages the operations of the congregation, which rents and shares space with Temple Kol Ami.
Weekday office hours are flexible and may be performed mostly remotely.
This is a part-time position averaging 24 hours per week (hours vary during holiday and non-holiday periods).
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):
Respond to phone calls and Emails in a timely manner
Work closely with and support the rabbi and board members
Keep track of weekly, monthly and annual activities, including services, classes and programs
Process online payments and checks for dues and donations
Work with vendors and pay bills
Send weekly bulletin, special notices and monthly and annual communications
Work with Temple Kol Ami executive director on building use and shared calendar
Help create a handbook of policies and procedures
Schedule and oversee security team and technology for Shabbat, holidays and events
Attendance at Jewish holidays, Shabbat, and some synagogue events preferred
Able to develop working relationships with clergy, board and synagogue members, TKA personnel and the community at large
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented, organized, able to manage multiple tasks and offer innovative solutions
Strong computer skills (e.g. Outlook, Google Docs, Excel, Zoom) and able to learn new applications (e.g. ShulCloud, Constant Contact)
Knowledge of or willingness to learn Conservative Jewish rituals and practices
