Position Overview:
Jewish National Fund-USA is looking to hire an International Development Director for our World Zionist Village. This is a remote position within the US and reports to the Chief Development Officer
Position Responsibilities:
- Total fundraising goal for the World Zionist Village, $350 million.
- You will identify, cultivate, and solicit principal gifts from high-net-worth philanthropists and foundations.
- While you will close gifts at all levels, to achieve our aggressive goals, your focus must be on high six-figure and seven-figure gifts.
- Travel extensively across the United States, with additional travel internationally, including Israel as necessary
- Report to Jewish National Fund USA CDO, and meet regularly with the CEO, recapping the gifts received, the prospective gifts and projections.
- Research funding sources and trends, with foresight, to help position Jewish National Fund USA ahead of major funding changes or trends; utilize best practices and innovative fundraising approaches
- Work collaboratively with the Jewish National Fund USA Director of Grants and Foundations on proposals and follow up reporting .
- As many mega gifts will be structured to include both "cash today and cash tomorrow" meaning, some donors will include their estates as part of the structure of their donations, you will work collaboratively with the Jewish National Fund USA Planned Giving department.
- Develop the appropriate level of internal communication, reporting and tracking of results
- Utilize the Jewish National Fund USA Salesforce database to manage donor and prospect relationships and communications.
- Professional management of the World Zionist Village Fundraising Subcommittee, working with the subcommittee co-chairs to schedule meetings and maintain frequent communications to keep leadership appraised of progress. Utilize subcommittee chairs in the solicitation process as appropriate.
- Administrative support will be provided through the Executive Assistant to the Chief Development Officer
Qualifications:
- At least 10 years of progressive responsibility and experience in fundraising, sales, or a client driven business
- Proven track record of principal gift fundraising for universities, hospitals or major cultural institutions
- Extensive experience working with senior-level executives
- Strong supervision skills
- Experience leading and growing successful fundraising/sales functions including building strategies to strengthen and increase funding from a diverse range of sources including individual donors, private corporations, and philanthropic foundations
- Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to balance multiple data points, stakeholders, and overall funding landscape in designing and implementing fundraising strategies
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, as well as an interest in advancing the organizations fundraising function to be even more strategic, innovative, and impactful
- Effective communication skills including experience in presenting and public speaking
- Experience with Salesforce preferred or similar CRM systems
