Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of their supervisor, the GMW H/TI Clinician provides client-driven services in a timely, prompt manner within the agency practice setting, as well as on-site at the Hillel of GMW six campuses. This includes Montclair State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Seton Hall University, Kean University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Rutgers Newark, and within the Greater MetroWest community, as needed. They will provide direct services and may carry responsibility for specialized services and duties as assigned by their supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide wellness assessments for Hillel and Federation Teen programs to evaluate strengths and opportunities for improvement with respect to mental health, wellness, resiliency, and self-care for adolescents and young adults.
  • Provide trainings and consultations for Hillel and Federation teen staff members on mental health during normative periods as well as during periods of crisis.
  • Organize and implement wellness activities into already scheduled Hillel programs to alleviate anxiety and stress and to promote wellbeing and self-care.
  • Provide workshops to teens and parents on mental health and wellness topics.
  • Provide individual weekly support sessions to college students.
  • Provide weekly support groups for college students.
  • Responsible for up-to-date record keeping and report writing, as needed.
  • Collaborate with supervisor, and Director of Clinical Services if needed, regarding clinical needs of clients.
  • Self-evaluate professional progress in skill development, reflective abilities, and growth objectives annually with supervisor.
  • Responsible for practicing in accordance with the agency policies and procedures and the NASW code of ethics.
  • Contributes ideas and suggestion to Agency policies, practices, procedures, and programs; may serve as staff representative liaison with interdepartmental and Agency Board Committees.
  • Maintains active involvement in the social welfare policy as related to primary area of service responsibility, participates in professional seminars, conferences, workshops, etc., to increase professional knowledge; incorporates new developments into practice whenever appropriate; may prepare written material for publication for own professional development, contribution to the field and enhancement of agency image, programs, or related services.
  • Responsible for interpreting the Agency’s services to community groups, synagogues, organizations, and others.

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree from an accredited Mental Health Master's Program (Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage, and Family Therapy)
  • New Jersey Clinical License - LCSW, LPC, LMFT OR LSW, LAC with 2-3 years’ experience working with adolescents or college aged students.
  • Practical understanding and familiarity with and sensitivity to Jewish identity and community (including its religious, ethical, cultural, and social values).
  • Ability to form therapeutic relationship with clients and positive collegial relationships.
  • Ability to make home visits, if required.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to apply new learning to the practice environment.
  • Ability to organize and manage workload.
