Description

The Community Outreach Coordinator is an integral part of the North Suburban JCC. They are responsible for creating, planning, and running successful programs for members and community related to the NSJCC. They are responsible for outreach to the Jewish Community North of Boston.  In addition, they ensure a friendly and comfortable environment for all members, families and prospective members at the North Suburban Jewish Community Center (NSJCC). This position reports to the NSJCC Executive Director.

Responsibilities

ADMINSTRATION

  • Work with the Executive Director as needed in the preparation of the budget
  • Review any contracts; discuss with Executive Director as needed
  • Develop and maintain management reporting systems for all programs
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality in regards to financial matters
  • Create a yearly events calendar
  • Update and maintain the events section of NSJCC website
  • Coordinate collections for Family Table, Citizen’s Inn and other organizations as directed
  • Provide a monthly event status update to the Executive Director or at the NSJCC Board Meeting.

PROGRAMMING

  • Plan and implement programs for the NSJCC. Specifically:
    • Plan activities for Families with young children through seniors
    • Organize and set up registration for programs and monitor/track sign ups. This involves managing financial intake platforms.
    • Oversee the ordering of supplies and equipment for planned programs
    • Work directly with venues/hosts, vendors involved and any members supporting the event to coordinate all activities.
    • Attend all events to register attendees and run any activities that need to be managed on the day. That includes arriving early for set up and staying late for break down.
    • Solicit event feedback by creating post-event surveys, promote surveys, track survey results and report results as required.
  • Specially manage, plan and attend major fundraising events on behalf of the NSJCC. These events can require significant planning in conjunction with NSJCC Board of Director committees, as well as the NSJCC Office Manager. Coordinate with outside groups such as, Temples, JCCs, Lappin foundation.
  • Prepare all outreach and marketing communications such as flyers, email marketing, and social media posts.
  • Promote all event to the local Jewish and general community
  • Manage NSJCC social media accounts.
  • Update Website information as needed
  • Prepare grants to help supplement programs
    • Finding any applicable grants
    • Preparing and write grants in collaboration with the Executive Director
    • Manage budgets for all awarded grants and coordinate grant expenses with NSJCC accounting department
    • Submit required grant reportingMeet as needed with the CJP and foster relationships within the CJP
  • Meet as needed with local secular and Jewish organizations to foster relationships.
  • Ensure that the facility complies with internal rules and regulations regarding Jewish customs/holidays
  • Ensure that all NSJCC programs are vegetarian unless food is provided by a Kosher caterer

COMMUNICATIONS

  • Communicates effectively with the Executive Director
  • Establishes open relationships with staff
  • Demonstrates calmness, professionalism and confidence when problem solving
  • Communicate and build relationships wit NSJCC families

PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT AND DEVELOPMENT

  • Supports the NSJCC Community
  • Meets regularly with Executive Director for supervision
  • Open to constructive criticism
  • Works remotely and in person
  • Maintains professional standards and conduct respecting the confidentiality of center-related information
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with staff and community members

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • The individua should be self-motivate, committed, a quick learner and a dedicated team player
  • At least one year of experience in a professional office environment, hospitality industry, or event planning experience
  • Effective and professional communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills – MS Office, Facebook, Instagram, Google Suite, Microsoft 365
  • Experience with grants
