ABOUT US

Congregation Rodeph Sholom (CRS) is a large dynamic Reform synagogue at the heart of Manhattan’s Upper West Side and has a strong 180-year history. We are a community for all who enter our doors, and our members represent the vibrant diversity of New York’s Jewish landscape. Multi-generational families, millennials, interfaith families, lifelong New Yorkers, those new to the city, folks pursuing conversion and those exploring Judaism for the first time have all found a home at CRS.

 

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking a thoughtful, self-motivated Marketing & Communications Coordinator to support day-to-day communications and digital outreach. You’ll work closely with the Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications as part of a small, high-performing team. The ideal candidate has strong writing, editing, and organizational skills, along with a keen eye for detail.

While we will train the right candidate, those with professional experience using the following platforms will be at an advantage:

  • Constant Contact (or similar email platforms like Mailchimp)
  • WordPress website management
  • com (or other project management tools such as Asana or Trello)
  • Photoshop and/or Canva
  • SimpleTix (or similar ticketing software)
  • Salesforce CRM & Salesforce Experience Cloud

 

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Hybrid work schedule: typically 3 days in the office and 2 remote
  • Standard hours: Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM; Fridays until 4:00 PM
  • Occasional evening/weekend hours may be required

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the email communications calendar; schedule, format, test, and send emails
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to write and edit email campaigns
  • Maintain and update websites and online calendars; generate basic web analytics reports
  • Post content to social media platforms (content provided)
  • Create and maintain public-facing event registration pages
  • Design light graphics using templates, stock images, or original content
  • Organize photos and videos in a centralized archive
  • Provide general support to the Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications as needed

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of professional experience in communications or a related field
  • Direct experience with email platforms like Constant Contact or Mailchimp
  • Basic familiarity with website editing (WordPress preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace, and SharePoint/OneDrive
  • Experience using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
  • A strong eye for layout and visual storytelling
  • Eagerness to learn new platforms and systems
  • Familiarity with Jewish culture, traditions, and institutions is a plus but not required.

SALARY & BENEFITS

Salary range: $57,000–$62,000 (commensurate with experience)

Salaries are based on a number of factors including qualifications and experience and are non-negotiable due to pay equity practices.
