Building on past programming achievements and a reinvigorated Board, the Chief Development Officer will formulate and execute a development strategy, including a capital campaign, and tactics to ensure that NMAJH meets its long-term objectives and ambitious strategic vision. The next Chief Development Officer will need to enhance the Museum’s major giving program, cultivating new relationships within and outside of the greater Philadelphia area, and to non-Jewish audiences. Serving as a member of the Museum’s senior leadership team, the Chief Development Officer will help to develop new relationships and maintain productive relationships with the Board of Trustees along with the CEO. In addition, the Chief Development Officer will be a collegial member of the senior team, collaborate with the curatorial and administrative staff, and friends of NMAJH, as well as maintain a highly visible presence in the community.

Fundraising – Substantial experience leading a successful financial resources development program and running a multi-million-dollar development operation; depth of knowledge including major and planned giving, capital campaigns, annual giving and membership, corporate and foundation relations, and special events
External Presence – Superior oral and written communication skills; political astuteness
Strategy & Vision – Big picture perspective regarding the Museum’s local and national importance and potential; ability to oversee strategic planning for and management of a large-scale campaign
