Pressman Academy Early Childhood Center: Assistant Director
Job Description
Pressman Academy is an innovative and engaging learning environment dedicated to developing minds, nurturing hearts and instilling Jewish values. The Assistant Director for the Early Childhood Center works in collaboration with the ECC Director and other members of the ECC Leadership and is primarily responsible for proactively and responsively supporting the students, parents, and teachers to help grow and sustain our Early Childhood Center. The Assistant Director reports directly to the Director and is assigned a 12-month work schedule.
Who are we?
Parents, students and teachers call Pressman Academy their second home, and we are proud to be a school that invests in providing staff members with a great place to work. Our award winning ECC provides staff with both the support to implement a developmentally-appropriate program as well as the flexibility to bring in their own creativity and passion. We invest equally in children’s social/emotional development and pre-academic development, which is one of the reasons we are known for being a school that graduates mensches. And we have high expectations for our staff to help create this high-quality environment, but we provide a lot of support for our staff, including mentorship, professional collaboration, and free lunches three times/week.
Who are you?
You are an educator who both truly loves preschool children and also loves working with the teachers and parents in those children's lives. You are deeply familiar with the emotional, social, and development abilities of children within this age range, and you understand their evolving needs. You are ready to champion those children, holding difficult conversations with adults when needed. You have at least five years of experience working in an early childhood setting, as a teacher and as an administrator, as well as degrees in early childhood education, and you’re eager to grow this work. And finally, you want to work in an environment that values relationships - those with your colleagues, those with students, and those with the community.
What Will You Be Doing?
Salary: 70k-90k, salary range is contingent on experience and qualifications
