Assistant Director of Development

Are you passionate about building community and driving meaningful impact? Donna Klein Jewish Academy is seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Director of Development to lead and grow our Annual Fund efforts. In this exciting role, you will play a vital part in shaping the future of the school by identifying, cultivating, and stewarding donors—ranging from individuals to foundations and corporations. You’ll collaborate with the Board of Trustees, school leadership, and our broader community to support initiatives that directly enhance the DKJA student experience.

As the Assistant Director of Development, you will manage a portfolio of donors giving up to $5,000, spearhead donor engagement for parents, grandparents, alumni, and alumni parents, and lead the planning and execution of key fundraising events and appeals. This is a hands-on opportunity for a results-driven professional who enjoys connecting with people, organizing impactful campaigns, and contributing to the success of a mission-driven institution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of annual fundraising appeals, donor events, and community outreach efforts
  • Manage and grow giving among parents, grandparents, alumni, and alumni parents (up to $5K level)
  • Cultivate and steward a portfolio of donors and prospects ($500–$5,000 range)
  • Support Development Committee and subcommittees as needed
  • Track fundraising performance; prepare donor reports and presentations
  • Partner with the Senior Director of Development in strategic and daily operations

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or a related field
  • Strong organizational skills with a knack for relationship-building
  • Experience in event planning and donor database management
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
