Scheck Hillel Community School, a large Jewish community school located in sunny North Miami Beach, Florida is currently accepting resumes for an experienced full-time Lower School Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.  Opportunities exist in 1st and 3rd grade.

The Lower School Teacher will plan, organize, and implement the Scheck Hillel instructional program in a  primary or elementary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their individual academic and social-emotional potential. Specifically, this position is designed to implement and realize the Scheck Hillel educational vision for students. 

The ideal candidate will have a growth mindset, a strong background in education and a genuine love for teaching children. The Lower School General Studies Teacher will be responsible for teaching students in the Lower School a variety of subjects and skills, including social-emotional learning, language arts, math, and social studies.  

As a Scheck Hillel faculty member, you will plan in high-performing collaborative teams where maximizing student achievement and personal growth are the priority. In these teams, learning targets and success criteria are clarified, refined and communicated to guide personalized instruction. Meaningful relationships support rigorous learning expectations along with highly engaging experiences (both in & out of class), all intentionally designed to maximize achievement, explore passions and foster identity. 


  • Dedication to creating a nurturing and challenging learning environment for our students
  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a lower school setting
  • Valid teaching certification and prior experience in an independent school and/or Jewish school a plus
  • Strong knowledge of pedagogical practices and learning theories
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and instructional technology proficiency
