Description

This is a multi-faceted position with potential for growth. Qualified candidates must be technically skilled, highly organized, detail-oriented, have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and be interested in content development. Excellent computer skills, (using Microsoft Office Suite) and marketing on social media platforms as well as some experience with database software, are a must. Experience with Canva, googledocs and other design software is a plus. This position supports office administration, daily operations, and special projects.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Liaison with Board Presidents, Committee chairs, Director of Operations, and Senior staff to create lively and engaging content for all weekly, monthly e-blasts and newsletters, and other communications that promote educational, social and religious events.
  • Create, coordinate and manage a variety of communications to congregants and potential new members. Collaborate with senior staff and lay leaders to ensure programming and communications are accurate and timely.
  • Lead and assist in the creation, coordination, and dissemination of documents for a variety of meetings as well as activities.
  • Create forms for sign-ups utilizing the synagogue database program (ShulCloud).
  • Answer e-mails and phones by responding to inquiries and when appropriate direct in-coming communications to appropriate staff or lay leaders.
  • Support Director of Operations and Engagement with project implementation, including membership development, event logistics, infrastructure projects and day-to-day operations.
  • Maintain positive relations with members and vendors.
  • Manage, support and streamline back-office processes and records management.
  • Support facilities management (need something more here).

Communications and Social Media

  • Manage and update website ensuring information is accurate up to date and user friendly.
  • Implement and monitor campaigns on social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc.
  • Create and produce engaging digital content both internally via google chrome cast and externally that promotes the events happening in the synagogue by working closely with senior staff and lay leaders.
  • Ensure accuracy of records and content.

SKILLS AND PROFICIENCIES:

  • Superior interpersonal skills to professionally interact and communicate with staff, congregants, vendors and potential members in person or via email and phone
  • Superior skills handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with attention to details.
  • Strong oral and written skills.
  • Strong customer service skills including the ability follow up needed to move projects forward.
  • Desire to learn and grow with the position.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite – including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
  • Understanding of the Jewish holidays, calendar, and events preferrable.
  • Familiarity with Shul Cloud database is a plus.
  • Familiarity with synagogue operations is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

Minimum of 2-4 years of administrative experience in supporting multiple Senior Level staff. Executives. Excellent organizational, written, and communication skills, required.

Must have demonstrated satisfactory qualities of personality and character and ability to work with others for the good of the institution.

Education:   Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.

Working conditions

  • Work schedule in office is flexible for up to 20 hours per week , Monday through Friday but may require occasional overtime.
  • Additional hours may be needed to provide support for events.
