Long Island/Far RockawayTeach Coalition advocates for government policies and funding to benefit yeshivot, day schools and nonpublic schools.
Priority issues include security, STEM, mandated services, and COVD-19 policies, including school openings and kosher meal distribution.
The Regional Field Director is responsible for cultivating relationships with activists, donors, lay leaders, school officials, school board members to create a strong grassroots movement focused on Ambassador networks, advocacy, voting, development, and event management in their assigned communities. As part of a growing grassroots team, the field director will be supported by the state and national office.
•Recruit and cultivate relationships with community leaders to be Teach NYS lay leaders and influencers in each subregion.
•Work with Jewish yeshivot heads, lay and professional leaders to keep informed and engaged in advocacy and policy work
•Establish a robust and engaged donor base throughout Long Island and Far Rockaway by cultivating and growing a portfolio of donors. Strengthen relationships with existing donors and lay leaders and identify and secure new prospects.
•Recruit, grow and manage ambassador networks, GOTV boosters and activists through meeting,cultivating, and training people from such groups as: yeshivot, parents, synagogue members, and Jewish education supporters
•Engage Teach NYS constituents in action alerts, events, and other advocacy activities
•Expand area’s voter database and voter registration activities
•Recruit and manage GOTV strategy and activists
•Represent Teach NYS at community events and forums
•Participate in fundraising campaigns and events
