Religious School & Communications Assistant Position 

Beth Tikvah B’nai Jeshurun is seeking an experienced, organized person to serve as our year-round Religious School & Communications Assistant (25 hours with the potential for full time). This role provides essential administrative, logistical, and creative support for the Educational Director and the Executive Director. We are seeking someone who is able to think creatively, work collaboratively, and support our warm, welcoming, and engaging learning environment for BTBJ Religious School students, families, and adults.   

Primary Job Responsibilities Include  

  • Managing social media platforms 
  • Plan and implement digital campaigns to build the BTBJ community online 
  • Assist with implementing programming for the BTBJ community including special events for Jewish holiday and Religious School Class Shabbat Services
  • Serve as first point of contact for Religious School, Junior Congregation, and Kesher Keens programs 
  • Support daily operations of BTBJ Religious School including overseeing our resource room, ordering supplies, making copies for teachers, planning events, managing regular communications with families, tracking attendance 
  • Process and distribute semesterly student evaluations and monthly class updates 
  • Coordinate with BTBJ Office Staff and members of various committees including the Religious School Parent Support Group, as needed 
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to Kesher Teens, Junior Congregation, B’nei Mitzvah tutoring, and scheduling for the BTBJ Youth Chorale 
  • Be present to assist with Religious School on Sundays 9:00am– 1:00pm (September–May) in addition to weekdays. 

What You’ll Bring to the Job: 

  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills 
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • A creative, flexible, positive, and outgoing attitude  
  • Comfort with managing a high volume of short-term and long-term projects with many moving parts 
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within deadlines 
  • Team-oriented mindset and ability to work well with colleagues in person and online 
  • Proficiency with using and learning about social media (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok), and internet-based applications (Google Suite, Remind, Signup Genius, Doodle, Canva, Constant Contact, Evite, Asana and ShulCloud) 
  • Knowledge of the Jewish Community and willingness to learn about our specific community 
  • Experience in Jewish education and/or previous administrative work preferred

Serving families from Lafayette Hill, Plymouth Meeting, Springfield, Ambler, Upper Dublin, Chestnut Hill and surrounding communities, BTBJ is a vibrant, warm congregation that provides an array of religious, educational and social activities.?BTBJ’s Religious School meets Sunday mornings (9:30AM-12:30PM), Tuesday afternoons (4:15-6:15PM) and Wednesday evenings (6:30-8:30PM). This is a 12-month position.
